Reg ADC10DV200 start-up time

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC10DV200

Greetings There,

We are in need of High speed ADC which is having start-up time (first time power-on to valid data) of <40us and latency of <40ns. ADC10DV200 meets latency, power consumption and resolution required for the design, but there is no information about sart-up time in datasheet. Using external reference voltage (which will provide stable ref voltage faster), is it possible to acheive start-up <40us ? Awaiting for positive reply

  • Thank you for your interest in the ADC10DV200. This device definitely meets your latency requirements, though the wake-up time is a difficult question to answer. Our power supply test equipment and the regulators used on our hardware boards have 70% settling times of ~1ms so it is not possible to determine precise ADC wake-up times less than this amount as a bench measurement. I can tell you that the ADC is definitely up and running by the time the supplies settle. Unfortunately, consulting designers is also not an option at this time.

  • Thank You Josh

As you mentioned, this ADC start-up time depends on power supply rails settling time too. Assuming the power supply gets stabilized within 10us, from 10th micro seconds, is it possible to acheive valid data output from ADC10DV200 with in 45us (i.e., 55us including power rail start up time)? It will be helpful if you share the start-up time observed in your test activity, later we can subtract the delay introduced by power supply, this provide us the rough estimate of the start-up time involved in ADC10DV200.
