The PC GUI software source code is not available for download.

There is no kit available with display. You can use the GUI to view the results.

and we worked with this board, which send reponse of pulse heart rate and pulse oxygen.

but present, when i connect usb connector , board giving some noise and LED is not glowing dim.

please give me the solution .

To help you debug the problem, can you provide more information about the conditions a priori when you started to notice this behavior? Were you measuring any voltage or current on the eval module?

Look for any power supply, gnd shorts on the eval module.

If you don't find any shorts, can you measure the current of the AFE4490 evaluation module?

Follow these steps to provide power to the board through an alternate source. Disconnect the pulseox cable for this testing.

1. Install a 2 pin header on J5 (located right below the mini USB port).
2. Install a zero Ohm resistor (0803) on R114 (located on the bottom side of the EVM near J5)
3. Provide +5V on J5 Pin #1 from a power supply
4. Provide GND to J5 Pin #2

Doing the above, the battery management device (BQ24032) on the EVM powers the EVM board from the external +5V.

Measure the current supplied by the external supply. Generally the current consumption will be under 2mA.

hello sir,

i purchase AFE4490 evaluation module board.

in my board MSP430f5529 pins are shorted.

so , i changed msp chip.

now i want to  dump a program in board.

i tried 2 ways

1. by using IAR IDE, i tried  to dump program from project>download with debug,

but there is a problem in programming.

it is saying no device found, seccion aborted.

2. bysing VI GUI, i tried  to dump through firmware upgrade,

in that it is found 1 device and erase the program and load the program.

after that i run GUI for nor operation with EVM board 

but in GUI, i am not getting any results or waveforms

please tell me how to solve the problem

1.steps to dump program into MSP

2.testing of EVM board for proper working

Using the firmware upgrade exe is one method to update the firmware on MSP430

1. Which firmware did you load the MSP430 with?

2. When you mentioned that you are not getting any results or waveform, do you get any error messages? Could you provide more details?

Have you verified if the AFE has been configured correctly?

Also what is the EVM GUI version and the firmware revision?

 firmware used for MSP430 is AFE4490_EVM_FW_V1.2

GUI used versions are  AFE44x0SPO2EVM GUI v1.11, AFE44x0SPO2EVM GUI v1.12, AFE44x0SPO2EVM GUI v2

i tried 3 version.

in that it is specified error is Insufficient number of samples for FFT calculation 

i changed only MSP and using same (original) AFE4490

please tell me how to check the board and get the correct results

Please use Firmware revision 1.3 (the firmware file will be located at the GUI default installation directory: 
C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\AFE44x0SPO2EVM GUI\Firmware Updater) with AFE44x0SPO2EVM GUI v2.0

After updating the firmware to the revision 1.3, refer to the following E2E post for AFE44xx HW troubleshooting:

After verifying that the AFE responds after power up and reset, you can check if the AFE registers has been configured correctly by reading back the registers using the GUI. Another quick visual test to verify if the AFE registers have been configured correctly, is to check if the red LED on the finger clip sensor turns on when it is connected to the EVM and when the EVM is powered up.

AFE4490EVM GUI v1.11 had software bugs that was resolved in v2.0.

Hence we highly recommend v2.0 and we do not provide any support for versions lower than v2.0.
