For the ADC12D1800, what is IMD3 in Non-DES mode?

Thanks!

  • Hello Rosanah,

On page 21 of the ADC12D1800 datasheet, we specify IMD3 in DESIQ mode as -61dBFS with two tones centered at 1215.02MHz and 5MHz spacing, -7dBFS each tone.
To compare performance across the different modes mostly depends on the desired input frequency. DESIQ, DESI, and Non-DES modes are all implemented differently at the input stage and thus have different bandwidths and gain flatnesses. At frequencies within the bandwidth we expect the performance to be roughly the same across all modes. Non-DES has the least amount of additional input circuitry, so we would expect the performance to be slightly better. At higher frequencies near the edge of the bandwidth you could see even more improvement in Non-DES mode. As a general rule of thumb, I would expect the IMD3 performance to be ~3-6dB better when comparing Non-DES to DESIQ.
