Request for help on DSP selection

Hi Everyone,

I am in urgent need to select a DSP for processing ECG signals. The basic requirements for the DSP processor are

=> 4 channel High resolution ADC [>= 16 bit width]
=> SPI interface
=> Good amount of data and code memory
=> Computationally efficient (preferably low power too) , with hardware accelerators for FFT , FIR filtering and instructions to process ECG signals for biomedical signal processing application

Could you please give me some pointers on the DSP processors that would be suitable to process biomedical signals [ECG, heart sounds, etc]. A high resolution ADC [>=16 bit resolution] is a must .

Thanks a lot to all the experts in the forum...Any views, suggestion or comments would be helpful.

Thank you,

Smita

  • Smita,

    Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages. Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics.

    In particular, at TI.com you will find a tab labelled Applications & Designs. Start there, looking for related equipment that will show you examples of building a product with the best choices of TI devices.

    You may also wish to make your own search through all TI processors by using the Products tab on the TI.com home page. Use the Parametric Selection Tool visible from the Products tab to narrow your search. Keep in mind that you will want to try all of the embedded processors categories: ARM, DSP, MCU, OMAP.

    You will need to do more analysis of your requirements before making a final decision, of course.

    Regards,
    RandyP
