TVP5158 Blue screen output data with Video detection status

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5158

Our customer uses the TVP5158 in Line-Interleaved Mode with the blue screen output. The Video detection status in Blue screen output data always is 0b (not active).

Can the Video detection status in Blue screen output data be 1b (active)? If the Video_Det_SAVEAV_En bit in AVD Output Control 2 register is set to 1b (enabled), is it 1b (active)?

Best regards,

Daisuke

  • Hi,

Our customer uses the TVP5158 in Line-Interleaved Mode with the blue screen output.

Is the VDET bit in SAV/EAV codes in Blue screen output always 1b?

Is the VDET bit in 4-Byte Start Code for Active Video Line in Blue screen output always 0b(not detected)? Or can it be 1b(detected)?

Please give me an answer as soon as possible. Your prompt reply would be appreciated.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

About difference between the normal video stream and the blue screen output stream, VDET bit in 4-Byte Start Code for Active Video Line is different, for the blue screen output stream, it always is 0b (not active). Is there any difference other than the VDET bit?

Our customer wants to capture the blue screen output stream by the video driver on DM365. If only the VDET bit is different, the video driver will be changed to capture the blue screen output stream.

Please give me an answer as soon as possible. Your prompt reply would be appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Daisuke

  • Sorry for the delay but I have been out of the office.

Can you try using the h-lock, v-lock and color lock status bits to check the status of the incoming video signal?

The VDET bits are intended to indicate the validity of the digital output stream which is valid when forced to blue.

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

    Thank you for your reply.

Any status in 4-Byte Start Code for Active Video Line can be checked by the video capture driver on DM365.

If difference between the normal video stream and the blue screen output stream is only the VDET bit, changing the video capture driver to capture the blue screen output stream will be easy.

    Best regards,
