ADS1015 I2C reading technical problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1015

I have in my development system ADS1015 device which is sampling an analog signal with varying voltage levels.

When I try to read the sampled data in the conversion register of the device over I2C bus I get sometimes

erroneous values with LSB byte of the conersion register always "F".

When trying to read other device registers (e.g. Config register), I get the same erroneous reading above as well.

Could someone tell me what the problem may be?

Thanks,

Abe

  • Hi Abe,

I'm sorry for the delayed response.  Can you tell me what SCL clock frequency you are using, and what the configuration register settings are that you are using?  Can you send me a schematic?  Can you send me scope/logic analyzer shots of the I2C communication?  Are you sure that you are not having a NACK in the communication?

    Best regards,
