My customer has the following question:

This decoder has internal ROM for storing information for the Timing Processor. What mechanism is in place for us to know if this ROM changes (using the standard part, not the EP device)?

I am not sure if I fully understand the question.

If ctm is asking how to know the revision of TVP5150, check 3.21.43 ROM Version Register

TVP5150AM1 do have different timing settings, check 3.21.37 656 Revision Select Register

Also ctm can check RAM Version Registers if patches of TVP5150 is used.

The ROM version is implicit in the device name i.e. "M1" means mask revision 1.

If software patch is used then the patch version can be read through the RAM version registers.

I think you may have answered it. They are more worried about the mechanisms of being communicated to if the ROM changes (i.e. PCN). Sounds like we would also be changing the part number to "M2."

Yes, but there will not be any future updates to the ROM now. This device is now a legacy device.
