ADS8509 / Absolute maximum rating of VDIG pin

Hi All,

I understand that the VDIG pin must be =< VANA and its absolute maximum rating is VANA+0.3V. Then please let me ask following questions.

  1. Which circuit will be damaged internally if the EOS over VANA+0.3V will be applied on VDIG?
  2. The clamp diode is located between VDIG and VANA and so the rating of VDIG is VANA+0.3. Is my understanding correct?

    I am assuming you are referring to the ADS8509.  Please let me know if this is not the case.  There is an internal path on the ESD protection circuitry between VDIG and VANA. There is a potential for this ESD circuitry to turn on if VDIG exceeds VANA  by more than +0.3V.

    I could understand the equivalent circuit in VDIG and VANA.
