malfunction of ADS8528

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8528

Hello,

I use an ADS8528 converter connected to an FPGA in hardware mode.
Signals are represented below. The conversion is triggered by the signal CONVST. We can observe the presence of the BUSY signal.

The component works properly for a few hours and then stops. In fact, the component does not respond to CONVST signal. BUSY signal remains in low state.
A harware component reset (with the reset signal)does not allow restart of the conversion.
To restart conversion, it is mandatory to cut the power supply.
Can you tell me why the component stops and requires a power supply disconnection to restart?
The electronic schematic is below.

Best regards

  • Daubelcour,

The RESET input to the ADS8528 should bring the part back to its defined power up state.  Is there any way for you to monitor the current draw on the AVdd, DVdd and the HV supplies?  I'm curious to see if there is any excess current flow - you might somehow be getting into a latch up state on the device such that it does not respond to your RESET signal.  Schematically I don't see anything that looks wrong and the LA plots you provided look fine.
