DAC 0808 noisy output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC0808

Hello,

I need to generate a ramp signal, so I am using a 8 bit counter to give me my 8 bit number which I send to the DAC0808. but unfortunately I am getting noise. As specified by the datasheet I am using figure 1 as the circuit configuration and output is buffered.

can anyone help me resolve this.

Thanks

  • Hello,

The first thing to check is the codes coming out of the counter.  For example when the counter goes from 0000 0011 to 0000 0100 does it send out some intermediary steps?  Does it go directly from 0000 0011 to 0000 0100 or does it send out 0000 0011 and then a temporary step of something like 0000 0000 and then 0000 0100?

  • Hello mike,

I checked my output on a logic analyzer and counter counts accurately with change of the data every rising edge of the clock.

I still am having hard time to figure out the problem.
