Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSC2046E
Hello,
The touch panel resistance spec. are below
X=700~2200ohm
Y=30~350ohm
Can TSC2046E support above X/Y resistance of panel that will be no problem? Thank you.

Hi Patrick,
If resistance for X layer seems ok, however the resistance for the Y layer is a bit low. The total resistance of each layer varies from vendor to vendor, but typical screens are in 200 Ohms to over 10k Ohms. As for as I know, if the resistance between Y+ and Y- is quite low, the on-resistance of the Y drivers will cause some error (The on-resistance of switch drivers are around 5 Ohms.) . Therefore, in my opinions touch screens with fairly low resistance are not good choices

Dear Andy,
Just one question. If we simply add a resistor (200ohm) over Y+ or Y- to compensate the impedance of Y plate. Has any problem for it? Thanks.

Hi Patrick,
Sorry for the late response. I am just came back from a short vacation.
If you do that, the output (coordinates) range of TSC2046E will be quite limited if the resistance of y layer is as small as 30 Ohms.
