ads1178: Cal factor question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1178

Hi

I am using ADS1178 for my circuit with Vref=2.5V.  Theoretical mV/count value is supposed to be 0.0761mV/count(5/(2^16)) but, measured value is only 0.0821mV/count. Is this deviation normal? If not, what could be the reason? Where to start debugging?

I checked for any fluctuations or change in Vref, but it is on 2.5V as intended

VrefP is at 2.5V and VrefN is 0V
AVDD 5.0
IOVdd 3.3V1
DVDD 1.8V

  • Hi Niranjan,

Thanks again for your interest in the ADS1178! I will address this question separately from your other post.

You could see some deviation in the mV/count (also referred to as least-significant bit (LSB) size) depending on the accuracy of your reference. Where does the 2.5V come from and what is used to drive the VREFP pin?

    Best Regards,
