ADS1259 Full-scall calibration

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1259

Hi

ADS1259 page26 Table12 Full-scall calibration

What is the difference between Gain=1(400000h) and Gain=0(000000h)?

Gain=1 but is no correction, correction of Gain=0 is, what degree?

 Best regards

  • Hi Cafain,

When you perform a gain calibration, you should get a result that is close to 400000h (or a gain near 1V/V).

The value set in the FSC[2:0] registers is divided by 400000h, and that result will become the multiplication factor that every conversion will be scaled by. Therefore, 400000h results in a factor of 1 and 000000h results in a factor of 0 as you mentioned.

Setting the gain to 0 (note this is V/V, not dB's!) would result in every output code being zero, which would be meaningless.

    Best Regards,
    Chris
