ADS1292ECG-FE replacing the ADS

Hi,

I got an ADS1292ECG-FE demo kit and I wanted to disconnect the ADS on board and connect a custom PCB with an ADS1291 on it to the board instead. I used TP connectors for SPI connection and power to connect the kit to the PCB and I also removed L3 and L5 on the board to remove the supply line (AVDD and DVDD) for ADS1292 on the demo board. Now, however, the SPI connection always read 0x00. I checked all of the connections and they are good. 

I was wondering if I should remove the ADS1292 on the demo board completely for this connection to work or as I removed the AVDD and DVDD of the ADS1292 on the demo board, the ADS1291 on the custom PCB can use the SPI lines without any interference?
