Minimum required connections from ADS1298 to MCU

Greetings to all!

I do not understand it well connecting the chip ADS1298. I can connect to the microcontroller pins are only DRDY, SCLK, DIN, DOUT, and CS, and the remaining pins are connected directly to ground or power supply (RESET, PWRDN, CLKSEL - to VDD; START, DAISY_IN - to VSS)? In this case, all the possibilities for control remain in the form of SPI opcodes?

Welcome to our forum!

That is correct. Keep in mind that when START is tied low to DGND, you can still send the START SPI command to control ADC conversions. Likewise, to reset the device, you can still issue the RESET command while the /RESET pin is tied to DVDD.

Hey Muhammad,

The ADS1298 communication works similarly to any other SPI interface you have ever used. You will connect the CS pin to the corresponding CS or FS pin on the host, the DOUT pin corresponds to MISO, DIN corresponds to MOSI, and SCLK pins are shared. For more information about the ADS1298 SPI interface, please refer to the datasheet.
