ADS4128 event trigger mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS4128, ADS4449

Hi,

I wonder if the ADS4128 can work in the "event trigger mode". An event trigger signal is used as the input clock, since the timing of the events is not pure periodic, the input clock will also deviate from a pure single frequency. If this mode is supported what care should I pay when the system is designed? Thank you in advance for your help.

Bo.

  • Hi Bo,

What is the trigger signal? Is it a small deviation around a frequency or large excursions? Can you give me a frequency range?

The challenge here is that this is a pipelined converter, so you will need additional clocks to complete the conversion process. This device may also have a PLL or DLL in it that further complicates things, but I'll need to check with design.

  • Hi Matt,

Thank you very much for the reply. The trigger signal is about +/-1% most from a certain frequency, say 100MHz. And the last 10 acquisitions in the ADC pipeline are negligible. Please also help check the ADS4449. Thanks.
