Hi,


I am trying to program the MSP430 included in the AFE4400 EVM using the MSP430 FET-UIF, but I am unable to detect the MSP in the Flash Programmer (it doesn't detect any microcontroller). I attached a header to J3 and checked all connections from the debugger. Is it possible to re-program this board through the JTAG with the FET-UIF?. What connections are really needed from the debugger?.

    Hello Julian,

    Yes the AFE4400 evaluation board can be reprogrammed using JTAG. You can use JTAG cable from Tag-Connect (http://www.tag-connect.com/Materials/TC2050-IDC-NL%20Datasheet.pdf) with the MSPFET430-UIF.
    When you use the Tag-connect JTAG cable, you do not require any header on J3.

    The connections needed from the debugger to 10-pin J3 header are:
    Debugger Pin #1 - J3 pin #1 - TDO
    Debugger Pin #2 - J3 pin #2 - No connect
    Debugger Pin #3 - J3 pin #3 - TDI
    Debugger Pin #4 - J3 pin #4 - DVCC
    Debugger Pin #5 - J3 pin #5 - TMS
    Debugger Pin #6 - J3 pin #6 - No Connect
    Debugger Pin #7 - J3 pin #7 - TCK
    Debugger Pin #8 - J3 pin #8 - TEST/SBWTCK
    Debugger Pin #9 - J3 pin #9 - GND
    Debugger Pin #11 - J3 pin #10 - RSTn/SBWTDIO
