DAC8760 EVM + SM-USB-DIG don't work

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8760

 Hello Guys,

My customer is trying to evaluate DAC8760 with the device EVM and SM-USB-DIG.

They intsalled SM-USB-DIG control software to thier PC working on Windows7 professional 64bit Service Pack1 OS.

But the EVM doesn't work. They can't control SM-USB-DIG. Any SPI signal of SM-USB-DIG always low level

when data write command is executed on PC.

EVM jumpper pins setting are the followings.

JP1 short
JP2 1-2
JP3 open
JP4 5-6
JP5 short
JP6 short
JP7 1-2 (EVM doesn't work when 2-3 shorted too)
JP8 short
JP9 open

If this jampper setting is wrong, please tell me the correct one.

Also if you find any reason of this trouble, could you please tell me?

Your help would be appreciated.

Thank you and best regards,

Kazuya Nakai.

  • Kazuya,

The SM-USB-DIG platform does not require the installation of any driver to the PC in order to function. It operates as an HID device and the PC should already have the HID driver installed (this is the same driver required for the keyboard/mouse). If the DIG is not functioning the only explanation I can really think of is that the SM-USB-DIG was somehow damaged.

This is not an issue that anyone else has reported.
