DAC3484EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE62005, DAC3484

Hi. I have DAC3484EVM plugged into TSW1400. My goal is to create two pulse waveforms with amplitude of 2Volts at 1700 Hz with pulse duration of 2 us.

The pulse is on for 2 us then off by 588 us.

Channel #1 and Channel #2 needs to be delayed from each other by 100 us. Also, I would like to use onboard clock (CDCE62005)?

Q1-What file do I need to load for utilization of on board clock??

Q2- Is there any example of a file for creating a pulse waveform at any lower frequency (1KHz or 10 kHz)?

Q3- I see that many people who are using DAC3484 board are using it for creating tones at much higher frequency than 1700 Hz?

Q4-Is there any limitations to what I am trying to do with this hardware?

I appreciate your input.

Thanks

Joseph

  • Hi Joseph,

Q1) Use any of the configuration files in the folder "Example CDCE62005 PLL Configuration" that meets your sampling rate requirements
Q2) You can create this with excel, save as .csv file and then load it into HSDCPRO software.
Q4) The EVM board has an ADT4-1WT balun used for differential to single ended conversion. The low cutoff frequency for the balun is 2MHz so the low order harmonics + fundamental of the 1700 Hz pulse will be attenuated.

    Thanks,
    Eben.
