Interfacing AFE5804 with TSW 1405

Hi,

I have procured an AFE5804 EVM card ( but the project dint take off) and now I am in need of it. My idea s to make a complete receiver solution, using AFE5804 and TSW 1405 Data Capture card.

My question is, is there a way I can capture the data from the TSW1405 without using the HSDC Pro GUI. I need to basically, read the data from TSW1405 using LabView or MATLAB and not through the HSDC Pro GUI. The only other solution I have now is to use an FPGA ( which I am not well versed with).

Also where can I find a "male" connector for the data coming out of AFE5804? The BOM describes the part as -

HEADER,SMT,80P,0.5mm,FEM,DIFF
PAIR,RECEPTACLE,168H

    Anup,

     

    There is a way to capture the data directly using LV or Matlab.  Our LV solution might be easier.  Would you like that?

    Here is the mating connector: QSH-040-01-F-D-DP

    Yes I am familiar with LabView so a LV soultion would be great.

    In the HSDCPro folder there are 3 options(HSDCPro running in the background):

    Labview:

    1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\Automation Function APIs\LabVIEW Wrappers

    2.C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\Automation Function APIs\HSDC Automation Function API.vi

    3. Direct DLL for LV, Matlab or C.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\HSDCPro Automation DLL\Manual and Examples

    Hi Chuck, 

    Thanks for the information. I have ordered TSW1405 but realised that it is not compatable with AFE5804 ( Such a silly error) 

    Is there a connector which is available or which I can buy to connect those two?

    I can also make my own connector , if i know the corresponding mating connectors. 

    Also I am planning to use the AFE 5804 with an FPGA. What type of connector does it need to connect to an FPGA. I am planing to use Lattice FPGA EPC3 ( Versa Dev kit), the same one used in TSW1405.

    Hi Anup,
    This is an old question, but I wondered if you had solved it. There is a adapter card that should come with the AFE5804EVM. This should work. The connector used on the TSW1405 is a pretty standard connector.

    The issue still remains unsolved.
    Does the adapter connect AFE5804 to (any) FPGA? or to TSW1405?
    Is it possible to connect TSW1405 and AFE5804?


    I was not able to find a connector connecting TSW and AFE or AFE with FPGA. Is there a name for it with which I can search for it?
