Hi,

Can user change the resolution of ADC12D1800 from 12bits to 8 or 10bits with programmable setting?

Hi David,
No, but they can quite easily truncate the 2 or 4 LSBs with post processing. What kind of application is this for?

Luke,Thanks for your fast response.
Customer considers using 8 bits or 10 bits flexibly in ADC10D1500.
Customer is worrying about functional problem when unused 2bits are floating or unused 2bits are connected to FPGA without floating.
Is there no issue in these 2 cases?

Hello David,
On page 59 of the ADC12D1800 datasheet we specify that the LVDS outputs should always be terminated with 100Ω. Therefore if the termination is internal to the FPGA it should be ok, unless the termination becomes high Z when unused. If this is the case then the best solution still might be to capture the data and post-process to truncate, but 100Ω should always be seen by the LVDS outputs.
