Testing AMC6821 EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC6821

Hello,

I bought AMC6821_EVM but I don't have USB MODEVM. I'd like to evaluate AMC6821 in order to use it in one of our product. Can you tell me how to use it easily without USB MODEVM which is a to expensive board?

Thank so much for you answer.

Regards,

  • Howdy Flora,

Welcome to the e2e forums!  I understand your concern, especially when considering that the USB MODEVM only works with older XP operating systems.  To get you started in the right direction I would like you to take a look at the User Guide for the AM6821 device.

The datasheet for the device will also be useful in evaluating all features of the AMC6821 device.  The datasheet can be found on the TI website:

The USB MODEVM is mostly responsible for power supplies and I2C communication.  Without this board you would need to provide your own micro-controller platform for communication (to set registers), and external supplies to power the AMC6821 device.

To connect the I2C lines and power supplies please refer to page 40 of the User's Guide, as this shows the complete schematic of the EVM.

    Hope this information helps.

    Best Regards,

    Matthew Sauceda
