Hi Aramis,

No. There is not a power-down sequence for the DAC8728.

It does however have a power-on sequence. Not using the power-on sequence will not destroy the device, but it may cause it to behave abnormally until the device is powered off and powered on with the correct sequence.

Did you have any specific concerns about powering off the DAC?

Eugenio,

I do have some concerns.
Our application keeps blowing them up.
Any suggestions?

Wow! I don't think that we have ever had this happen to the device!
If you have the QFN version, the only thing that comes to mind would be to connect the thermal pad to AVSS.

We are going to need to look at a schematic and possibly the layout around the DAC.

Quick question:
In general, what could cause the device to burn up - show physical damage?
Over voltage, shorted outputs, capacitive or inductive load?
