ADCpro - ads1278evm-pdk plugin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1278, ADCPRO, ADS1278EVM-PDK

Hi,

I've installed ADCpro v2.0.1 and the ads1278 plugin (from an ftp ti webpage v1.2.4) but I'm unable to use the plugin in ADCpro. According to ADCpros´ user guide, when opening the application I should be prompted with a the "General tab" window, instead I get the Splash screen and then the initial ADCpro screen from which I can only access the EVM and Test plugins.

What am I missing? I've already viewed other posts regarding adcpro installation problems (not all of them) and haven't found a solution.

As a reference, the ads1278 plugin was installed on the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\ADCPro\plugins\ADS1278EVM-PDK ... should it be installed in another directory so ADCpro can understand that it's installed?

PS...

When I tried opening the ads1278evm.lvproj file in LabView, it prompted me for an EEPROM.lvlib file that is currently missing (already looked and it's nowhere to be found), don't know if its related but I thought I should mention it.

Thanks in advanced,

Carlos

  • Hello Carlos -
The ADCPro software has the Launcher disabled, Section 2. Therefore, your description of your start-up is correct. You should start at Section 3 (see Figure 7, then Figure 8). Once there, you should be able to begin using the software according to the user guide; you should see ADS1278EVM under the EVM menu item (see Section 3.4).

Let us know if you have further questions.
  • Hi Greg,

I have already read the user guide and I know the launcher is disabled, that much is clear, yet when I'm in the main app screen (Figure 8) I'm unable to see or access the ADS1278 plugin eventhough the plugin is installed (see attached).

Is there an issue with the versions I'm using? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled everything with the same outcome.

    Thanks

  • Hello Carlos -
A couple of quick questions to verify...
    1. You ran the ADCPro installer first correct? Then the ADS1278 plugin installer after?
    2. What version of Windows are you running? ADCPro only supports up to Win7.
  • Hello Carlos -
With another look at your screen capture, something looks off. The ADS1278EVM plugin information should have been installed one folder further down.
You can try moving the entire folder 'ADS1278EVM-PDK' into the 'evm' folder. You then should have '...\evm\ADS1278EVM-PDK\...' Not sure why the installation was in the wrong location, but this should fix things.

Let us know if you have further issues or if this doesn't help
  • Hi Greg,

For your first message... Yes I installed ADCPro first and then the plugin. I'm using windows 7.

For the later... I tried moving the ADS1278EVM-PDK folder to "evm" but it didn't work. I got prompted with an error message saying there was an Invalid Plugin INI File... but that got me thinking that the issue might be the ads plugin. I started testing several ads plugin versions until I got one that worked properly and got installed in the "evm" folder.

    Thanks for your help Greg!

    Best Regards,

    Carlos TM
