ADS1192 - Power Consumption

Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask the power consumption of ADS1192?

If the only 1CH is used(2CH nouse), how much of the power consumption will be?Half of 0.67W?
The datasheet shows which the power consumption is 0.67[W].

We could not find it from the datasheet.

We need your help.

    The power listed on page 6 of the ADS 1192 datasheet as “Quiescent power dissipation” (supply = 3 V, RLD Turned off, Normal mode) indicates the total quiescent current consumed by the device when both channels are active. The parameter located beneath quiescent power dissipation on the datasheet that is labeled “Quiescent power dissipation, per channel” indicates the power consumption for which each channel is responsible. You’ll notice that the value for per channel quiescent power dissipation is 350 µW which is nearly 670 µW divided by 2. To roughly calculate the typical quiescent power consumption with only one channel turned on, you can simply subtract the total device quiescent power consumption by 350 µW, which is approximately equal to dividing the total device quiescent current by two. However, I would expect that value to be a little higher in practice since there are other pieces of the device that still need to be powered that are independent of the input channels (i.e. the reference, the digital controls, etc.). If you look at the typical power consumption for the ADS1191 which is a one channel device, you’ll notice that the quiescent power is typically 450 µW. I would tend to expect the ADS1192 that has only one of its channels active to consume around 450 µW typically.

     

    As a reminder, quiescent power consumption is the power that the device consumes when the input(s) are shorted.
