TVP5146 Sync on Green Support?

Looking at the TVP5146M2 datasheet, it explicitly says that sync on green is not supported, and any references to RGB support refer to SCART, however I do not see this note in the TVP5146 datasheet. Does the TVP5146 (non M2) support sync on green RGB video sources, or is this simply an omission from the older TVP5146 datasheet?

Yes, the TVP5146 (non M2) supports interlaced RGB with SOG as defined in the SMPTE 253M standard.

However, it does not support VESA PC graphics formats such as VGA, SVGA, XGA, etc.

Refer to section 2.11.1 and Table 2-12 in the TVP5146 datasheet for information on selecting the RGB input mode.

Can you recommend a device that works with VESA PC formats, mainly VGA?

Tai,

The TVP7002 video ADC supports VESA PC graphics formats; however, it does not support CVBS or S-Video.

Thank you Jim,

The TVP7002 has 20 bit output. I only have 8 bits on the YI port of the DM6437. Is there a chip that converts the 20/16 bits into 8 bits?
