ADC10D1500 sync question

Hi,

For using 4 ch ADC, if customer divides RCOut1+/- of ADC1 to1:3 and they connected to other 3 ADCs(ADC2, ADC3, ADC4), does autosync operate?

if correct, is it ok to use one of RCOut1+/- and RCOut2+/-?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello David,

There are two issues I see here. The RCLK receiver has 100Ω termination. If you connect ADC2,ADC3,ADC4 together you will effectively be making them all in parallel for 33Ω. Since RCOUT is an LVDS driver that expects 100Ω differential there may not be enough signal amplitude to trigger the receiver. It may still work but I wouldn't feel comfortable about it. A better approach is to use something similar to figure 8 of the Autosync App note (http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snaa073f/snaa073f.pdf)
