Hi. I have to develop wireless earbuds with temperature and pulse sensors. In order to get the heart rate, I am planning to follow a reflective PPG approach. I might be interested in using an AFE4403 and probably a DCM05... The problem is that I would like to fit both sensors inside of an earbud and those earbuds have to be custom molded; so, the pcb will be surrounded by silicone. I am thinking of placing the DCM05 in front of the Cavum Conchae so the earbud should be comfortable for sleeping with and not protrude out of the ear.
Does this sound feasible to you with these ics/sensors? Will the silicone affect the measurements? Will the Cavum Conchae be a good place to get the PPG?
Would you recommend me a smaller solution? It would be great if the interface would be i2c by the way. Just to reduce the number of wires coming out of the earbuds.
Thanks!
