ADC08D500 / Serial Interface

Guru 29720 points

Hi Team,

I found the following note in datasheet page.28.
-------------------
NOTE
The Serial Interface should not be used when calibrating the ADC. Doing so will impair the
performance of the device until it is re-calibrated correctly. Programming the serial
registers will also reduce dynamic performance of the ADC for the duration of the register
access time.
-------------------
Does the yellow part mean that the write data of Serial Interface is invalid?
I believe the write data is valid, however would like to confirm just in case.

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Yaita-san,
The serial data is still valid, but if there are serial writes during the calibration process then the process can be interrupted or performance can be degraded. It is best to perform all of the register writes before the calibration, then calibrate to improve performance.
