I would like to power down the AFE4490 when not being used. However, everytime I take the afe4490 out of PDN using the external pin, do I have to reset the device and re-initialize? What is the best way to put the device into a low power mode and quickly wake it up for sampling without resetting the registers?

Hello Ccent,

Yes, using the AFE_PDNZ pin to powerdown the device requires to reset and reconfigure the device after the device is pulled out of the powerdown mode.

Alternately you have an option to use the PDNAFE bit to put the device in a low power mode.

Refer to the Powerdown timing requirements section in the AFE4490 datasheet for more details.

Thank you. Just to clarify, the power down modes using the pin and using the register are two different modes. Using the register PDNAFE bit places the device in a low power mode that does not require resetting the device upon wake up? Is this correct?
