ADS1298 EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298

Hi,

We are evaluating the ADS1298 EVM and when we are giving input signal 4 channel by connecting to 2 arms and 2 limbs and we shutdown all other channels the output waveform we are getting are too noisy.Attached Wave forms FYR.

And we are getting good o/p wave forms without noise when checking with flickr ECG simulator.

Please help how to reduce noise.

  • Hello Uma,

I'm required to tell you that the ADS1298ECG-FE is intended for electrical evaluation of the features of the ADS1298 in a laboratory, simulation, or development environment, that the ADS1289ECG-FE is not intended for direct interface with a patient, patient diagnostics, or with a defibrillator, and that the ADS1298ECG-FE is intended for development purposes only and is not intended to be used as all or part of an end equipment application.

That being said, the human body is essentially a large antenna that picks up all kinds of noise from the environment. If that noise is in band to the anti-aliasing filter that exists on the EVM in front of the input to the device, then it will appear at the output. The right-leg drive amplifier can be utilized to drive the patient common mode. It may be configured to drive either the mid-supply voltage or a user-configured combination of inputs on to the patient which should eliminate some of the patient noise.
