ADS1115 characteristics

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1115

Hello,

My customer uses the ADS1115, measuring single-ended signals.

There are only the  characteristics of differential input on the datasheet.

Could you give me the characteristics of single-ended input?

Is it same as differential input characteristics? (+/-256mV=256mV?)

Regards,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Naoki-san,

There is no difference in using the ADS1115 to measure single-ended signals instead of differential. Single-ended basically means that we are using one of the inputs as a common input to the other channels. The measurement characteristics are the same.

  • Hi Joseph-san,

Thank you for your fast reply.

My customer uses the ADS1115 mainly FS=256mV.
It isn't available some characteristics with FS:256mV condition.
May I refer the characteristics of FS=0.512V?

    Regards,

    Naoki Aoyama
  • Naoki-san,

For many of the characteristics, the FS=0.512V will be very similar to FS=0.256V. However, I don't have much more than the curves in the datasheet.

If there is a particular characteristic that the customer is interested in for FS=0.256V, let me know and I can see if there is more data available.

  • Hi Joseph-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
The customer wants to know 'Gain error' and 'Gain drift', so there are available on the datasheet Fig.6 and Fig.7.
How about 'Offset-PSR'? Is it 1LSB(max.) too?

    Regards,

  • Naoki-san,

I'll look to see if there is any characterization data on these parameters. It may take a little time to check.

  • Naoki-san,

As you mentioned gain error and gain drift are already mentioned in the datasheet.

For offset, I would refer to the FS=512mV curve in Figure 4. Based on the topology and the given curve, the FS=256mV would be extremely similar.

For PSR, it is not specified as 1 LSB over gain. The only specification I can find is the Gain Power Supply Rejection of 80ppm/V and given in the datasheet on page 3.

    Thank you for your reply.
I will feedback the customer this information.
