Hello,

We plan to evaluate the posibility to use DAC5682Z converter usng Xilinx Artix 7 AC701 evaluation board.

We plan to purchase www.ti.com/.../tsw3070evm and http://www.ti.com/tool/fmc-dac-adapter

Can you please confirm that the adapter board is required and compatible with both tsw3070evm and AC701?

Does TI provide HDL support pckage for Xilinx FPGAs and tsw3070evm? Is this included in the tsw3070evm?

Do we have better options to start with DAC5682Z?

Hi Dimitar,

The adapter should be compatible with the AC701.But Before ordering please check to make sure all pin connection matches on Xilinx board and the adapter board. Below are the links where you can download the schematics for TSW3070EVM and DAC to FMC header adapter card.

Hi Neeraj,

Thank you for the pointers.

I have tried to do the compatibility check myself and thsi is what I found

FMC adapt uses VITA57.1 “MC-LPC-10L” while AC701 uses VITA57.1 “CC-HPC-10”connector.
I’ve heard the LPC is compatible with HPC carrier connector. I am not sure about the sufix L at the end which doesn't match in my case.
I tried to compere the signal names of the adapter and AC701 card but aparently I will require more VITA57.1 bus knowledge to say.
What I can confirm is that for each diferential pair in the adapter I have a diferntialpair at the AC701.

Does this information helpfull to you to answer my compatibility question?

Dimitar,

The "L" stands for low pin count and the "H" for high pin count. The HPC has more signals per the VITA standard. As long as you have matching diff pairs from the FMC of the Xilinx board all the way back to the HSMC connector of the data converter board, you should be able to use either connector with the adapter. The adapter will physically connect to either FMC.
