is your driver a tested version that can also be used with DM6467T?

Can you send me the code? and for which DVSDK did you write the code?

I have a video security customer that urgently asks for this driver.

Hello Viet,

I am developing a system with TVP5158 and DM365 processor. I am using DVSDK3.10 for my system. Does this driver work with DVSDK 3.10 and Arago Linux kernel 2.6.32-rc2?

OUr TVP5158 driver released is developed and tested with LSP v01_03_00_082 for DM6467. We currently have no plan to upgrade it to the new LSP you are using.

I need a mcvip_tvp5158 driver for a kernel 2.6.32 , because I use a dm6467t togehter with the newest dvsdk 3.10.00.19 (release version !)

I could not believe that you had no plans to upgrade the TVP5158 driver.

How should customer use the tvp5158 togehter with the dm6467t ?

Do you know TIs "new" LINUX strategy and the project arrago ?

In my opinion, having a tvp5158 driver for the kernel 2.6.32 and for dvsdk 3.10 + dm6467t

fits perfect together with this strategy .

Hi,

Our latest driver is tested with DVSDK v1_40_02_33 and LSP v01_03_00_082. We haven't try to rebuild and test it with dvsdk 3.10 so we don't know if it will work for it or not.

There is huge difference between the EDMA APIs and its implementation in latest DVSDK. Hence it will not work as is with latest DVSDK. You need to modify the EDMA handing all around in the MCVIP driver for this to work.

The mcvip_tvp5158 driver includes some kernel patches.

These patches have to be adapted from kernel version 2.6.010 to kernel version 2.6.32, as well.

(for example the i2c interface changed, some include paths changed, etc.)

Anyhow the huge adaption is on the EDMA side ....

From the customer's point of view, "time to market" is very important. Therefore it is essential to have a mcvip_tvp5158 driver

for the dm6467t + dvsdk 3.10.00.19 .

- I guess that the mcvip driver is specifically for the TVP5158 EVM to be used in conjunction with the DM6467T EVM.
From your side are there any plan at all to provide a driver for a more recent linux kernel? and/or for an other processor board (like DM8168)?

- Are there any other TVP5158 drivers available? I have seen for example that the UDWORKS DM368/DM8168 based DVR reference designs do use TVP5158.
Do you know where the TVP5158 drivers for this can be found? It might be based on more recent linux kernel release.

I realize this is an old post. But has anyone created a driver that supports the dvsdk3.10 for the DM6467t and TVP5158 that they are willing to share? Please let me know.
