ADS5294EVM connecting to FPGA.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5294

Hey guys,

the prototype design cycle of my current project is short and since i am working on my own i do not have time to design a board for the ADS5294 which is planned for use in the project. Can i use the evaluation module to digitize signals and feed them to a fpga provided i find the right connector. thanks very much.

  • Joel,

We have received your post and hope to have a response back to you soon.

  • Hi,

What is describe is exactly how we evaluate all of our ADC EVMs.  The ADS5294 EVM connects directly to the TSW1400 (TI's LVDS capture solution using an Altera FPGA) via the FMC connector.  Using the GUI for the TSW1400 we are able to process and analyze digitized data.  You should be able to do the same but must ensure your FPGA EVM maps correctly to the ADS5294 EVM.  If your FPGA EVM already exists you might require a translator board to remap pins.

    Hope this helps.
