ADS131E08EVM : How to evaluate using 64ksps

Hi

Our customer want to evaluate S/N as using 64ksps and variable PGA.

Since ADS131E08EVM is not supported 32ksps and 64ksps mode,our customer is starting consider other vendor.

Could you please provide any suggesion to evaluate the way as the above?

    Hello Alpha -

    As you have noted, unfortunately the firmware/software of the ADS131E08EVM does not support 32kSPS or 64kSPS operation.  The EVM hardware of the EVM-PDK can be connected to another platform/processor/logic analyzer to support evaluation at the higher datarates.  However, software/firmware/logic analyzer setup would need to be written/completed by the user.

    Our customer said if raw data was got , they can evaluate specification of ADS131E08. Could you provide configuration software of ADS131E08 and how to migrate?

    Hello Alpha -
    Unfortunately, we cannot support additional development. The evaluation software is provided as an easy way to get the part up and running for most conditions of the device. However, modes outside of the supported operation or custom configurations cannot be supported due to the large set of possibilities for these parts.

    Could you provide project file of VC5507 on MMB0 base board?
    Since you mentioned this problem is software/firmware issue , if we modified configuration source code for ADS131E008 , I think we can get raw data using CCS from VC5507.

    You should receive an email with details on the information that you requested.

    Additionally, the challenge with using the DSP with the high speed mode is that the data channels change to 16bit words, while the status word remains 24bits. So you will need to allow for that. (Details in the datasheet...page 31)

    Thank you for providing firmware source.

    We are trying to modify this source code and think configuration resister of ADS131E08 might be after 35 line in "dc_donf.h".

    But we found a problem that how can we build the project.

    We think that some files related MMB0 board like mmb0.h is necessary to
    build the project.

    Could you provide any files related MMB0?

    The provided code should be a complete CCS v3.1 project. You may have to port the project manually to get it into a newer version of CCS. Some of the csl files changed functionality, which facilitates this change.

    I understand that you are trying to evaluate the device at the higher datarates.

    Per earlier posts, the evaluation software doesn't support these features. The EVM hardware is capable of using the higher datarates if you want to write your own code or connect the hardware into your system. The higher datarates pose a challenge when trying to write universal firmware since the data changes to 16bit data in these modes (see page 31 of the datasheet).

    The provide source information should have all the files need for the project. This project was done in CCS v3.1, so it will not directly convert into the newer versions. You will need to do some work to accomplish this; it may be worth trying to post to the CCS forum to see if they have any suggestions/tools to do this conversion.

    We have located a slightly newer CCS version of the firmware that I will send to you the information on via an email. It should be for CCS 4.5, so it may port to the newer versions better; however, there still may be issues.
