LM15851 and Time stamp

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM15851, ADC12J1600, ADC12J2700, ADC12J4000

Hello All,

It's just a curiosity: LM15851 has not bypass for biuld-in DDC. At DDC input we have 11bits+ 1 time stamp bit, after DDC we have 15-bit complex information stream.  How to use time stamp data? Where is time stamp?

Best regards,

Dmitry

  • Hi Dmitry

As you have noticed the LM15851 device always operates in DDC (decimated 15+15 bit I/Q data) mode, and therefore can not support the TimeStamp feature. Thanks for pointing out this error in the product datasheet. We will remove the erroneous references to TimeStamp as soon as possible.

Please refer to the ADC12J4000, ADC12J2700 and ADC12J1600 products which all support DDC Bypass (undecimated 12 bit data) mode in addition to the DDC modes of the LM15851. In DDC Bypass mode the least significant bit of the 12 bit output data contains the TimeStamp information (when TimeStamp is enabled).

    Best regards,

    Jim B
