DAC39J82 PINOUT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC39J82

e2e,

We have a customer that is planning to use the DAC39J82 on a new design.  This device is a two channel DAC, but in the pin out section of the data sheet Channels C and D are included (see table below).  Since the DAC39J82 is a dual channel device having channels C and D show up in the data sheet is confusing.  The customer wants to confirm the pins for channels A and B so they create their schematic symbol correctly.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

John Wiemeyer

  • Hi John,

The DAC39J82 is a dual channel DAC device with 2 active DSP blocks (i.e. NCO, mixer, QMC, etc). The analog output core has all 4 DACs active with one output mux to route the 2 DSP paths to any of the 4 active analog DACs.

Basically, the customer has the flexibility to choose any of the two analog DAC output for their end system design. For instance, during PCB layout, some output channel routing might have advantages over others. The output mux selection can be configured in the config34 setting.
