ADC12D1600QML

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12D1600RF

Good afternoon,

In going through the pin-outs on the ADC12D1600QML (vs. the commercial version of this ADC), we are noticing that the V_OCM pin does not exist.  Has this capability been removed from the flight version?

We were not planning on AC Coupling our front-end to this ADC.  It would seem from the QML datasheet that AC Coupling is our only option.  Can you please confirm?

Dave

  • Hi Dave,
Moved you to the High Speed Data Converters section.

  • On the ADC12D1600QML, the Vcmo pin, C2 is active and can be used for DC coupling as shown in the ADC12D1600RF datasheet.
It was originally assumed that there would be no applications in space using DC coupling. Since space applications usually have restriction against floating metal, this was shown as a ground pin.
In the next update of the ADC12D1600QML datasheet, the Vcmo pin will be shown as active.
Note that although the C2 pin has the same function on both the commercial and space parts, there are some pins/functions that are different between the two products.
