Recommended ADC's to use with interfacing to an Altera de2-115 FPGA

Hello,

I'm new to prototyping and my professor just recently purchased an Altera de2-115 FPGA. I need an adc evaluation board that is compatible with the ADA HSMC daughter card that came with it so I can perform various closed loop control techniques. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Nadia,

The ADA HSMC card has non TI data converters on it - you will need to contact their manufacturer for support.

Hello Ken,

Thanks for replying. I contacted the manufacturer and I was informed that the performance of that ADA HSMC board is very low for frequencies below 1MHZ. Does T.I. offer an hsmc bridge for the altera de2-115 board? If so what compatible adc evaluation boards can I use with T.I.'s HSMC bridge.

You probably need an amplifier DC coupled solution, this would exclude any transformer coupled EVMs. I do not know if any of our EVMs will connect properly to that eval platform as we have not tested it and most of our ADC EVMs also are AC coupled which does not have a good response below 1M.

I would recommend this solution which provides 2 DC coupled ADC paths - it connects to the Cyclone V SOCkit platform.
