Possibility for connecting between DAC3484 and FPGA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC3484

Dears,

My customer is using a FPGA (Xilinx) and want to connect with DAC3484.

1. Is it possible to connect with the DAC3484 LVDS  and the Xilinx IO through 2.5V level?

2. Can you check the DAC3484's LVDS level?

Thanks,

  • Hi Kyle,

When we released the DAC3484, we have specified the DAC LVDS receiver input level to match Xilinx FPGA (Virtex 5/6 series at the time of the release) to meet their LVDS output requirement (both AC swing and DC common mode spec). As long as they ensure the Xilinx FPGA ports can support standard LVDS specification and the appropriate data rate for the DAC, the devices should meet the specification.

I am not sure about your question of is it possible to connect the DAC3484 LVDS and the Xilinx IO through 2.5V level, especially your meaning for 2.5V level. I am assuming you mean Vcc of the Xilinx IO. I believe even with Vcc of 2.5V, Xilinix will need to make sure the LVDS level are still compliant. Please clarify. Thanks.
