ADS1274 and THS4521

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1274, THS4521

If I place these two ICs in the same layer (TOP or Bottom), ananloig signals (VOP, VON) cannot be conencted direcly. (one or two vias should be used.)

Ss, I am a little concern about performance degrade due to via.

I saw ADS1274 datasheet (Figure 89), and I found inverted output is connected to AINP, and non-inverted output is connected to AINN.

In this case, is there just phase reverse effect?

What is the recommeded method for differential pairs trace?

- normal connections with one or two vias

- or reverse connections with no vias

Let me know your opinions.

Thank you for your advice in advance

  • Hi Hak-Jin,

The output of the THS4521 will have the reverse phase from the original input signal. These applications focus on measuring the differential voltage, so the phase of the buffer output relative to the input is not a concern. Therefore, it is ok to connect VOP to AINN and VON to AINP.

    Best Regards,
