ADS1675's Noise Performance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1675

Dear All

Let me ask about ADS1675's Noise Performance

There is an Equation(1) for ENOB in data sheet P16.
In addition, there is Table1 summarized Noise Performance in.
Please would you tell me a relation of equation 1 and table 1.

If case of 【Low Latency/Low-speed modes/DATA RATE[2:0]=(0,0,0)】,
・What is Full-scale range?
・"RMS noise" = "6.3 (Input-Referred noise [μVrms])"?

Best Regards,
Tsuguhiko Asai

  • Hello Asai-san -
The full-scale range of the device is +/- VREF (see Data Format section and Table 8 on page 25 of the datasheet).
The RMS noise is the noise value determined by shorting the inputs of the data converter. Input referred noise is the RMS noise divided by the gain of the device. Since the ADS1675 has no gain, Table 1 may be a bit confusing. Table 1 'Input-Referred Noise' should really be the noise of the device (since there is no gain, GAIN = 1).
  • Dear Greg-San,

Thank you very much for a kind answer.
I could understand the "Full-Scale range" and "RMS noise", thanks to your answer.

    Best Regards,
