AFE4490 Evaluation

We have developed  AFE4490SPO2EVM hardware module as per the reference schematic in user guide.

After uploading the firmware, while connecting the device to the GUI software tool, the hardware connecting the GUI tool correctly

but while I trying to capture the signal it showing the error message Insufficient samples.

I have checked the hardware using the diagnosis enable option, but it showing no error.

Also the write and read registers operation executing properly. ( I ensured it with a serial port monitoring software tool)

The voltages in INN and INP lines are 0.89 V

In hardware the LEDs in the sensors module are not  turn on, so I think the issue is in the hardware  transmitter (TxP & TxN section) of AFE.

Is any software or hardware means for troubleshooting this?

I checked after replacing the AFE4490 chip with a new one, but the same issue repeats.

    Hello Ranjith,

    There are two instances when the error message of Insufficient samples occurs.

    1. When the data capture command from the GUI is not parsed correctly by the firmware.
    2. When the AFE is not configured correctly that the AFE does not generate the ADC_RDY pulses to indicate new ADC data is ready.

    You can check #2 by monitoring the ADC_RDY pin for the data ready pulses at the pulse repetition frequency.
