How to remove ripples from ECG signal?

Hi TI,

I am designing Analog Front End (AFE) for Lead-I configuration ECG.

My designed system comprises instrumentation amplifier, band pass filter and notch filter.

Recorded ECG signal is further filtered through 19.5 Hz Butter-worth Low-Pass Filter. This filter implementation is through MATLAB.

I am designing hardware Low Pass Filter of having cut-off frequency of 20-30 Hz by using TL082CM IC.

When signal is applied to 19.5 Hz butter-worth low filter, the output signal is having ripple so there is no smooth curve to identify exact wave shape for P-wave and T-wave.

How to remove ripple from ECG signal?

kindly help me.

  • Ankit,

If you are asking how to remove ECG ripple using a specific TI device, then please let me know which one so I can better direct your question. If not, then you can try posting a question to the Precision Data Converters Forum, since they have the ADS129x devices that do ECG and have experience filtering signals properly.
