ADS1248 START pin

Hi,

if I have an application where IO is minimal, do I need to use START pin at all? If power down is not needed, can I just pull the START high with RESET# and leave it high?

I am planning to use 2 channels for 3-wire  PT100s.

Ideally I would only like to use 4 standard SPI pins: CS#; SCLK, DIN, DOUT/DRDY#

Would this be OK?
