Partial conversion of ADC10080

Dear Specialists,

My customer asks how to convert of ADC10080.

The customer's wants 20us partial conversion of the pulse interval(100us~1000us).

Could you advise what is the most suitable to control ADS10080?

(1)Provide clk only converting( timing circuit is needed.)
(2)Use stby pin (In this case, tstby is caused.Is there any problem?)

    I would recommend using the stdby features, but the customer must understand that the ADC requires 20 clock cyles to wake up from the standby and output data again. The customer can also run the ADC in normal operation all the time and ignore the data that is not needed. This is the most simple solution but it does not have power savings.

    I'll feedback your information to the customer that the STBY feature is recommended.

    Are there absolutely 20clks When stby funciton is used?
    Because the cusotmer is concern about deviation of the wake up time.

    I cannot say absolutely if there is any variation of the wake-up time. It may be wise for the customer to build the design so that the wake-up time can be tuned. Note that the wake-up time does not affect the latency through the converter. The phase alignment of the pulse at the ADC output to the pulse launch time does not depend on the wake-up time.

    I use the adc10080, the signal is workong on 40mhz, I wand to know the differential input resistance.

    But I can find it in the spec. so, could you tell me the data.

    Hi,

    A full S-parameter characterization of this device is not available. This device has a high impedance input with only capacitive and inductive components in the network, so there is no internal resistive termination. A good approximation is to assume just the input capacitance which is 4pF from each input to GND.
