Custom software and TSW1400EVM

Hello We are evaluating TSW 1400EVM with DAC 3482EVM

We would like to test controlling the TSW1400EVM with our custom software thru the USB interface.
This why we can migrate smoothly to our end goal - a custom FPGA+DAC board.

Is the TSW1400EVM USB interface open and documented?
Or is there other reference design we better start with?

    Hi Dimitar,

    If you would like to control the TSW1400 firmware with your own software that is not documented. We do have some automation examples which you can use to control HSDC Pro from Matlab or Labview.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\HSDCPro Automation DLL

    We do not have the appropriate resources to support a low level custom interface to the FPGA firmware. If you would like to implement custom firmware on the TSW1400 please refer to this TI Design.

    If you would like to look into this further, we use the FTDI USB chipset and driver. You will need to write your own USB interface to work with the FPGA SPI.

    Yes this is what I am going to do in about a month but first I want to get idea about the functionality of the original development boards and original software.

    Hi Dimitar,

    Sorry we could not help you further with the USB details as that is handled by a contractor. I can provide you with a functional description of the TSW1400 as is without any other implied support. Would this be ok?

    If so please send me your contact info and I will send you a functional description of the TSW1400. This may help you get your design started.
