AFE4490 EVM GUI software problem

I have installed the software and driver according to the manual "slau480c.pdf". Everything was fine until I launched the GUI software. I kept getting the message"

An error has occurred while communicating with the device" error (Device communication error). But I am very sure that the driver has been installed and recognized correctly in the device manger as a com port. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.

Is the board showing up in the device manager? Can you show me a screenshot of what is showing up in the device manager?

Jimmy,

We have observed that on certain machines, the GUI will not work for lower COM ports. When the GUI and the USB drivers are installed correctly and the Device Manager shows the AFE44x0SPO2EVM recognized as a virtual COM port, but the GUI cannot establish communication to the AFE44x0SPO2EVM and shows the Device Communication Error, change the COM port to a higher number (greater than 25).

Can you try changing the COM Port number?

After changing the COM number to COM95, it did detect the module. Thanks for your help.
