digital potentiometer for audio tone control circuit

Hello,

Could you please suggest way to use a digital potentiometer (digital controlled analog potentiometers) in audio tone control circuit like Baxandall circuit? Can we directly replace the analog potentiometers in Baxandall circuit with digital potentiometer?

In general I read that digital potentiometers needs a high impedance stage following it (ie. following a digital potentiometer with a buffer stage). For volume control its fine as we may follow the digital potentiometer with a high impedance buffer stage. But how to handle digital potentiometers in tone control circuits like Baxandall circuit, where they are connected to other resistor and capacitors.

thanks and regards
